We found that inhibiting the phosphorylation of AKT at Ser473 and Thr308 was sufficient to induce the distal relocation of the AIS. Short-chain alkyl glycerols (such as TDG) can restore the synthesis of plasmalogens and reverse the distal displacement of the AIS.
